Financial Planning
You should sleep easy at night.
Your advisor and advocate is looking out for you.
Anybody can hand you a financial plan.
You could probably ask AI and it’d spit one out for you. Have you ever stopped to ask what it means? Who’s monitoring your financial plan and helping you assess it? Who’s helping you make the adjustments? Who decides what you need to retire, how soon, and how you can get there? Who decides how to invest?
Good financial planning helps you get where you want to go.
Everyone has different dreams and different values. Their own definition of eudemonia, the highest human good. That’s why every one of our financial plans is different. That’s why our Living Well model exists. We can’t help you plan if we don’t know what you love, what you don’t, and where you dream you can be…sooner and later.
A good plan isn’t enough.
Once we really know you well, we become an advocate for you and the things and people that matter most. We proactively look for opportunities that fit your goals and values. We also watch out for potential problems. We pay attention in a way that you can’t. Combining financial planning with wealth coaching is a key way we do this.
You’ve got a team.
We meet regularly as a team to share our expertise and stay up to date on the best ways of helping our clients relentlessly pursue their eudemonia. Our financial planning committee ensures you don’t just have one advisor and advocate looking out for you, but a whole team of them.
Our Financial Planning Process
These universal areas are informed by your values and definition of living well:
Position
Your financial circumstances. We meet together periodically to examine the changes in your income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
Protection
Your risk management. We review your coverage and exposure for (but not limited to) life, disability, health, home, auto, and umbrella insurance.
Taxes
Minimize your burden. We’ll work with you to develop a customized tax plan to reduce your total lifetime tax.
Investments
Your healthy portfolio. We’ll continually assess whether your portfolio is in line with your goals and make changes if it’s not.
Retirement
Where do you want to go? We’ll always discuss whether your goals have changed, assess how your journey is going, and look for ways to make it shorter and easier.
Estate
Feel at peace with your legacy. Your attorney drafts the documents, but we’ll help you build a framework to ensure all of your legacy goals are carried out to your wishes.
Maybe you own a business?
If you own a business, then it’s critical to consider how this–maybe your most-invested asset–fits into your overall plan and future. While the overall planning process outlined above still rules, you have specifics that must be incorporated. You might have partners. You definitely have specialized tax considerations. You have unique risk management concerns. Cashflow to fuel your lifestyle and future planning can be unpredictable. You have succession on your mind, and if you don’t, well, you should.
Achieving eudemonia while owning and operating a business requires an intentional, long-term effort. To achieve success, your financial planning experience must include a focus on your business.
“When we come in…
For our meetings with Note, they’re well aware of everything that’s going on with my business, my family life, and that type of stuff. That’s important to me and probably to them to make decisions for us.”
